Welcome to Early Medieval Irish Túath, the wiki-based medieval community!

On these pages you will encounter the people and places which made up an early medieval Irish túath, or community. The descriptions are based upon the surviving corpus of Old Irish legal tracts, literature, annals, and other written sources which date roughly to the seventh through ninth centuries, along with the archaeological record. This wiki is the creation of the members of the University of Notre Dame course "Ireland in the Dark Ages" and will grow over the term of the fall semester of 2010. We invite you to look around and explore our world as it evolves.
